After almost 10 years of operation Momofuku Seiōbo will close after service on Saturday 26th June 2021.
Seiōbo has been an unconventional restaurant from the day we opened in 2011. No one expected Momofuku’s first restaurant outside of New York City to open in Sydney. No one expected a Momofuku restaurant in Sydney to serve the flavours of the Caribbean. And having successfully reopened after covid, it might seem strange for us to bring an end to this restaurant.
But that’s the way we’ve always done things. We’ve worked hard at seiōbo to create a sustainable restaurant for our team. As we looked at our lease ending, we realised that after having poured so much of ourselves into this restaurant — especially over the past year — the most sustainable thing we could do was celebrate seiōbo and end on a high note.
